Helen & Frankie
Helen Lisa Melville was born and raised in the horse country of Yorkshire, Northern England. She grew up galloping over fields and jumping hedges on the back of a 17.2 mare, but only learned about diagonals and leads after crossing the pond in 1988. A severe fall in 1997 caused her to lose her nerve and hang up her boots... until late spring, 2004, when a former beau took her on the famous Sunset Ranch Dinner Ride. A gentle and responsive horse called Calvin changed her life. Helen rediscovered her lost passion and ended up buying the old equine she rode on that fateful Friday night. They are both past the age of unnecessary risk taking and now contentedly amble through Griffith Park together going around obstacles, not over them. Helen renamed her steed Frank because of his honest disposition, and despite his initial protests, her old four-legged cowboy is finally getting used to the pampered lifestyle of an LA metrosexual. When she is not grooming her horse, Helen works as a massage therapist with a large celebrity clientele.
